National Workforce Network delivers unique solution for security company

National Workforce Network (NWN) and International Security Training Academy (ISTA) have teamed up to provide a unique employment solution for national employer M.A. Security Group.

The NWN sourced nine job seekers for employer M.A Security. The job seekers underwent a six-week facilitated security training course, with partner training organisation ISTA, and the group graduated in Melbourne last week.

Graduates have been offered covert security positions with M.A. Security Group who offers its services to clients nationwide.

M.A. Security Group General Manager Margie Paolacci said her organisation worked with ISTA to create a course that would lead to ongoing employment for graduates.

“We set up a meeting with NWN and ISTA where we expressed a shortage in a specialised area of security we call Covert Operations.,” Margie said.

“ISTA’s Scott Overend operates an organisation with a solid reputation for delivering a high standard of quality security training. M.A shares the same philosophy and this was the attraction for teaming up and aligning with ISTA,” she said.

“Sadly we often have to knock back work throughout Australia including regional areas, due to skills shortages. In an age where we work hard to bring in business, knocking it back hurts.

“During the meeting NWN National Account Manager Nicholas Newby was able to identify very quickly what was required to put together a pathway and framework that would attract providers to offer this opportunity for job seekers.

“From our organisation’s point of view, we wanted to bring in some new people with unique skills so that we can deliver services to our national clients,” Margie said.

“From the employment services point of view, it was a great opportunity for people to gain skills in a job that if they succeed at, they can work wherever they like in Australia.”

ISTA General Manager Scott Overend said the NWN’s involvement through MatchWorks, Direct Recruitment and National Account Manager Nicholas Newby was critical to the course’s success.

“I can’t thank Nic enough, there were often times where a number of emails and calls were exchanged throughout the day but it all came together and now we’ve got this exciting result,” Scott said.

“This group has set the pathway for future groups to take up this course.”

ISTA and M.A. Security Group are expanding the course into Queensland later this year.
