PQSA’s Human Resources Manager Elizabeth Frankish says the National Workforce Network is an easy and effective way to access new staff.
The Paraplegic and Quadriplegic Association of South Australia (PQSA),and its commercial division HomeCare+, provides services to people living with a disability in the community, and has been using the NWN to identify and recruit new employees.
Elizabeth said establishing a relationship with the NWN had proven to be a beneficial for her organisation.
“We’re really pleased with what they’ve been able to put together for us, and they’ve worked collaboratively with us to ensure we have the workers that have the necessary qualifications,” she said.
Elizabeth said the NWN had worked with her team to tailor a recruitment solution to meet HomeCare+’s unique needs.
“They’ve allowed us to work with Registered Training Organisations to make sure the training is contextualised to this particular part of the disability sector,” she said.
“The workers are well prepared, not only with the knowledge but also the physical skills required to commence working in the disability sector.
“It’s actually opening up doors to a myriad of different people who may not have even considered the disability sector as a career path.”
The NWN is a collaboration of employment services providers that delivers a seamless and professional recruitment service for Australian businesses across multiple markets.
Elizabeth said other employers should consider using the NWN.
“I think it’s going to be really beneficial for the disability sector,” she said.
